About G&L

A small Phoenix shop that answers its own phone.

I'm German Lopez, and I run G&L Roofing Services LLC out of Phoenix. One number, one point of contact — the person who quotes your roof is the person you call about it.

Who you are hiring

The name on the truck is the name that answers.

G&L Roofing Services LLC is an owner-operated roofing company based at 3336 W Missouri Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017, in the Alhambra village on the west side of Phoenix. German Lopez runs it. When you call (602) 794-5224, that is who you are calling — not a call centre, not a rotating sales rep who will have moved on by the time your roof is scheduled.

That structure is the point rather than a limitation. Roofing has a well-earned reputation in this Valley for salespeople who have never carried a bundle, quotes written from a driveway, and companies that are hard to find again six months later. The alternative is simple: the person who looks at your roof is accountable for it.

The work is self-performed across every system the Valley builds — concrete and clay tile, architectural asphalt shingle, standing seam metal, low-slope modified bitumen and foam, and coatings. That matters most on the roofs that are more than one thing at once, which in Phoenix is an increasing number of them. A house with panel on the modern wing, tile on the pitched planes and a low-slope deck over the patio leaks at the junctions between them, and those junctions should not be a hand-off between three subcontractors.

Standing seam metal is the work we take the most pride in. It is the least forgiving surface in residential construction — reflective, uninterrupted, and unforgiving of any decision made badly before the first panel goes down. If you want to know whether a roofer can do the careful version of anything, look at their metal.

How we work

Four things we do on every roof.

We get on the roof

Not a look from the ladder at the eave, and not an assessment from the driveway. On a tile roof that means lifting tile at representative spots on different slopes, because the tile itself tells you almost nothing about the roof's condition.

You get the photographs

Every failure we find gets photographed, and you keep the pictures whether or not you hire us. It is the difference between taking a roofer's word for it and seeing your own roof.

We will tell you not to buy

An inspection that always finds thousands of dollars of work is not an inspection. Some roofs need a repair, some need replacing, and some need nothing yet — and you will get whichever of those three is true.

The boring parts get done

Deck repaired before it gets covered. New pipe jacks instead of reused ones. Formed metal at the details instead of sealant. Nobody sees any of it once the roof is finished, which is exactly why it is where corners get cut.

Proof, not portfolio

Every photo on this site is a roof we did.

No stock photography, no borrowed portfolio, no renders. Tile, shingle, standing seam metal, low-slope and dry-in work, photographed on the job as it happened.
