The detail
What this work actually involves.
On a new build, the roof has two deadlines. The first is dry-in: the moment the deck is covered and the rest of the trades can start working inside without watching the sky. Missing that date pushes drywall, which pushes everything. We treat dry-in as the schedule item it is, not as the start of a leisurely roofing phase.
The second deadline is the finish, and that is where the design lives. Valley custom work is increasingly mixed-material — standing seam metal on the low-slope and modern wings, tile on the pitched planes, parapets wrapped in self-adhered membrane and closed with metal fascia. Those transitions have to be planned before anything is installed, because a metal-to-tile junction detailed on the fly is a leak with a two-year fuse.
We work directly with builders and GCs on layout, valley and hip detailing, penetration and curb locations, and scheduling around the other trades on the roof — solar, HVAC, plumbing vents. And because we self-perform tile, shingle, metal and low-slope, a mixed-material roof does not require three subs coordinating three different ideas about who owns the transition.

Can you dry in quickly and come back for the finish later?
That is the normal sequence on a custom build. We dry the roof in so the interior trades can start, then return for tile or panel at the point in the schedule that makes sense.
We are running metal and tile on the same house. Is that a problem?
It is standard on Valley custom work now, and it is exactly why one roofer should own the whole roof. The transition between the two systems is the detail that matters, and it should not be a hand-off between subs.
Do you work with builders on the architectural details?
Yes. Valley, hip, parapet and penetration details are worth resolving on paper before anyone is on the roof, and we would much rather have that conversation early.
Do you take on additions and remodels, or only full builds?
Both. Tying a new addition roof into an existing tile or shingle roof so it does not leak at the junction is its own skill, and it is a large part of what we do.
